Frantic Assembly
Frantic Assembly is a British Theater company focused on making devised theater. The company utilizes a method focused on improvisation and "Building Blocks" breaking down a show to its most pure basic truth and building it back up again one "block" or idea at a time. Frantic Assembly's productions are very choreography-focused and use interpretive movements to convey their show. Much if not all of their scripts are improvised or changing. In the show "Things I Know To Be True", Frantic Assembly focused on creating a less physical show and achieving more of an emotional connection. While still physical and extremely interpretive, the cast spent much of its time before the show premiered crafting physical movements and choreography to capture the emotion, as opposed to a more formal script. This exemplifies devised theater by focusing less on a script or realism, and breaking down a show to its most raw form and crafting theater around that.
